{"id":200,"name":"Legal Consent Bill","summary":"This bill establishes that:* The party affected by another's crime or illegal/immoral act holds the sole responsibility of deciding whether or not to legally prosecute.* The affected party may i...","raw_contents":"This bill establishes that:\r\n\r\n* The party affected by another's crime or illegal/immoral act holds the sole responsibility of deciding whether or not to legally prosecute.\r\n* The affected party may include one or more individuals.\r\n* In the event that multiple persons are affected by another's crime or illegal/immoral act, 60% of those people*, at minimum, must reach a collective agreement to legally prosecute, otherwise the case cannot move forward without a unanimous vote by council to override the affected party's decision or lack thereof.\r\n* A member of council, the president, or the founder must privately and personally contact all members of the affected party and ask whether or not they wish to legally prosecute.\r\n* A member of council, the president, or the founder is responsible for investigating the situation and determining the identities of the individuals who belong to the affected party.\r\n* In the event that another's crime or illegal/immoral act directly affects 50% or more of the TeenGovernment population (determined by the most recently conducted census), a unanimous vote of council may decide to prosecute on behalf of the affected party and their personal wishes may be overridden by that authority.\r\n* The affected party's decision can be nullified by a unanimous vote of council, or a decision by the president or the founder in the event it is reasonable to suspect the party was/is under duress or inebriated when making their decision.\r\n* The affected party reserves the right to overturn their decision on their own volition within exaxtly 48 hours (2 days) of making it.\r\n* High crimes, crimes that disturb the peace, and rule 1 violations are exempt from this bill.","proposer":"API","isPassed":0,"isConsidered":0,"isEnforced":0,"notes":"Update to edited version","isRepealed":0,"created_at":"2026-03-18 03:01:26","curratedText":"","isRejected":null,"isUnsure":null,"ogUrl":"https://www.reddit.com/r/TeenGovernment/comments/1rws3um/legal_consent_bill","ogUser":"BreezyBee7","apUrl":"https://www.reddit.com/r/TeenGovernment/comments/1ryx3vs/the_eighteenth_transparency_post_of_my_tenure/","apUser":"","status":"Passed","ogCreatedUtc":1773802491,"billIdentifier":"20260318-3"}
