Well require this to be set on the 19th by the Census Minister; we're on the 22nd, and results opened today. Because of this specification on dates, we're in a bit of.. an issue\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn the Constitution, it does state \"\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n* Article II: The size of council shall be determined by the following math: For every 10 citizens one council member shall be added, if this number is not a whole number it is rounded, if it is even it is then rounded, a floor is set at 5 and a ceiling set at 13.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYet\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n* Article V: Minister of Census shall release results of the Census on the 19th of each month and use the numbers to determine where the vote count and council size shall be set.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBecause of the recent issues, as the delayed Census result, the evaluation had failed to occur in proper timing\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis creates a major logistical error, one which shan't be ignored, or risk an outright failure of Government systems.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhilst the math likely suffices and beats out the ref, for the sake of security and to ensure our Council can function properly, I propose this.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSec I: Seat\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(a) In the Elections, only 5 individuals may hold the office and seat of Council.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(b) This law shall be voided on the 1st of July.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(c) in the circumstance that Council does not obtain 5 or more runners, the set amount of runners shall be equal to the number of runners\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSec II: Definitions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(a) Council is defined as the official Government office responsible for passing or rejecting legislation\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(b) Elections are defined as the official Government election for the deciding of public officials, specifically, for in use of this document, Council.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(c) Runners are defined as individuals currently attempting to obtain a seat, via proper Elections, and in use of this document, attempting to obtain a seat on Council.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSec III: Enactment\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(a) This shall come into effect immediately, and is to dictate the seats available for the Council Election.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n(b) This law is voided and considered null on the 1st of July (as seen in Sec I(b), restated)\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n","proposer":"John Rock Brown","isPassed":0,"isConsidered":0,"isEnforced":0,"notes":"","isRepealed":0,"created_at":"2026-06-23 23:08:25","curratedText":"","isRejected":null,"isUnsure":null,"ogUrl":"https://www.reddit.com/r/TeenGovernment/comments/1ucpnda/the_holy_shit_59_we_are_fucked_temporary_amendment","ogUser":"Trickster-123","apUrl":"TAG","apUser":"","status":"Rejected","ogCreatedUtc":1782146223,"billIdentifier":"20260622-2","type":"legislation/bill"}
